COUNSELLOR PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Thank you for visiting SLCC, where therapy takes on a new meaning.

BACP therapist

  • PGDip in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling

My name is Lauren, and I am a Humanistic Psychotherapist. I believe that every person — regardless of their experiences or circumstances — deserves the opportunity to live an authentic and fulfilling life. I see each individual as unique, with an innate capacity for growth and healing when met with the right support.

My approach is relational, holistic, and grounded in empathy. I offer a calm, safe, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is central to change — feeling heard, understood, and accepted can be deeply transformative.

Creativity is an important part of my philosophy. I am particularly drawn to mandala art, which symbolises a journey inward — toward balance, insight, and self-understanding. I hold the belief that within each of us is an inner wisdom, and therapy can be a gentle process of reconnecting with that centre.

I work with adults seeking empowerment and greater self-awareness, as well as young people navigating education, identity, and the pressures of an ever-changing world. Having worked across educational settings, I understand the importance of listening deeply and fostering resilience, confidence, and self-esteem.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready to understand yourself more fully, you do not have to do that alone. Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and begin again — with compassion, courage, and support beside you.

Mandala art is a gentle and meaningful part of my therapeutic philosophy. Traditionally symbolising wholeness and a journey toward the centre, the mandala reflects the process of coming back to oneself. The circular form can represent balance, integration, and the unfolding of inner awareness. Where appropriate, creative exploration can offer a quiet, reflective space — helping feelings surface safely and allowing insight and healing to emerge naturally.

My work often focuses on helping people who find themselves stuck in unhelpful patterns of behaviour and who are struggling with things such as relationship issues, workplace problems, self-esteem, confidence, trauma or bereavement. Therapy helps to reduce emotional suffering, supports change, and promotes personal growth.
