Thank you for visiting SLCC, where therapy takes on a new meaning.

My name is Lauren a Humanistic Psychotherapist who believes that everybody, regardless of difference, diversity and circumstance, deserves to live an authentic and fulfilling life. As a Humanistic therapist, I value each individual as being unique and I believe that with the right support, we all have the capacity for growth and change.

One of my specialist area's is hoarding, due to the complexities of the disorder I take a non-judgemental relational, holistic approach. I have faith in the human potential to develop in a positive direction. I am gentle, warm and empathic and I believe that it is the relationship between myself and the client that is central to the therapeutic process. I work in a person-centred relaxed way offering a calm, safe and non-judgmental environment.

Another area is working with young people, having worked in both sectors of education I understand the need for us to listen and support their navigation through exams and life. Empowering their self-esteem and resilience in this ever changing world.

My intention is to journey with you to enable you to feel more empowered towards living a fulfilling, whole and meaningful life. I hold a BACP professional qualification at post-graduate level from the University of Brighton. I work with adults from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. I specialise in hoarding, bereavement, anxiety, depression and psychosis and my passion has been supporting clients to explore their neurodiversity. I also hold a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art which helps me to confidently work creatively therapeutically.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health

Private, Confidential with a "whole family" approach

We are a private and confidential service in a unique calming environment, we encourage clients to express their feelings freely. We believe a whole family approach is vital in understanding the ‘issues'. We work in conjunction with all invested parties and provide practical guidance in developing self-management skills that support both physical and emotional well-being. There is nothing we have not heard before nor coped with.

Advisory Service on CAMHS & Substance Misuse

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are services that support young people with their mental health. Sourcing local support for drug and alcohol misuse.

Referring your child to CAMHS can be daunting. We are here to help and support you and your family understand what lies ahead. Admitting you have a substance problem can be a lonely path, we are here to guide you in finding the right support that suits you.

Boarding School Isolation

Private, Confidential & Culturally Aware

We understand what it is like trying to adjust to a new culture and educational system. Managing school structures, cultural differences, language and expectations can be very confusing and lonely. We can support and guide in developing skills that will help you in understanding these differences.

'Cathy has provided a safe space and an independent ear for my daughter and helped her to slowly explore and learn how to mentally live in a very challenging world. I would wholeheartedly recommend her counselling which has been invaluable and we very much appreciate it’

Private and Confidential

My work often focuses on helping people who find themselves stuck in unhelpful patterns of behaviour and who are struggling with things such as relationship issues, workplace problems, self-esteem, confidence, trauma or bereavement. Therapy helps to reduce emotional suffering, supports change, and promotes personal growth.
