SLCC
SURREY'S LEARNING & COUNSELLING CENTRE
Mulberry House, RH5 4RP
It originated in Japan in the 1990's the primary purpose was to encourage the rediscovery of Japan's forests & revive traditions that were fast disappearing due to urbanisation. Now becoming a Western phenomena we are reconnecting with nature seeking spiritual support in a world that is quickly disappearing.
Our tranquil and ancient copse: Petersfield Copse has a presences & soul that you can connect with enabling you to immerse yourself in rediscovery.
SLCC is a beautiful caring environment set in 10 acres of ancient woodland, mature gardens and ponds providing a distinctive setting where you can explore the benefits of Shinrin yoku through sensory engagement connecting with Nature and improving your body & mind.

Catherine Salvi Coombs
Some people will know me as a mother, teacher, psychotherapist, and clinical supervisor. Part of my journey & privilege is working with families, groups, and individuals, supporting their empowerment to return to a balanced life. As a psychotherapist I have seen people in real psychologoical distress encouraging a self-care model of MEDS; meditation, exercise, diet and sleep to achieve a balanced mental health.
However, as hard asthey tried this was not enough. After years of searching and going through an exhaustive list of techniques. I noticed a crucial aspect to a balanced approach was missing.
Ones harmony between Body & Spirit; purpose.
This powerful awareness drove me on to change my focus to the cause; loss of spirit not the symptoms; depression etc. Sylvotherapy gave me that awakening it is a natural therapy that offers unique benefits both physically & psychologically reducing stress, depression, improving mood and connecting with your spirit: purpose.
Shinrin yoku / Sylvotherapy
